In a survey by IDG/Lookout of 100 business executives, 74% of the leaders had experienced a mobile-related security breach.  They also acknowledged that 82% of corporate data was accessible via mobile devices.

The etiology of these data breaches included vulnerable mobile apps; malware-rigged mobile apps; unsecured WiFi connections; rooted and jail broken devices; mobile apps that send or access sensitive data; and apps downloaded from nonofficial stores.

It is critical for businesses to have policies and practices regarding Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) and their use into the work place.
